Minors and certificates give students the ability to create their personal educational structure and frame their future.  The School of Art offers minors in art history or studio art. In addition, there are three cross-institute certificates available.

The ASU Herberger Institute School of Art welcomes students interested in all aspects of visual art including art education, art history and the studio arts.

Art Education

The art education program in the ASU Herberger Institute School of Art prepares students to succeed in multiple educational environments, offering a broad-based undergraduate curriculum with a substantial foundation in studio art, art history and art education. The Masters of Arts with a concentration in art education program emphasizes teaching and learning in schools, museums, the community and online with interdisciplinary, multicultural and international components. The program has three full time faculty members and several faculty associates who mentor students.

Research + Initiatives

The Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts supports the scholarly inquiry, applied research and creative activity of more than 400 faculty and 4,373 students. This research activity spans more than 100 academic programs and allied research centers in five academic schools: art; arts, media and engineering; film, dance and theatre; design; and music.

Tuition and Paying for College

Thousands of dollars in scholarships and fellowships are awarded to Herberger Institute students annually. Money generated for these scholarships and fellowships come from the generous donations of our alumni, parents and friends. Scholarships are awarded and re-evaluated annually.
