Faculty Position


The School of Art in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University seeks to hire a full-time 9-month (academic year) tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Animation program with an emphasis on 2D animation, beginning August, 2023. This position includes research, undergraduate/graduate teaching, and service responsibilities.


The School of Art in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University seeks a full-time 9-month (academic year) tenure/tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Fashion with an emphasis on new frontiers in fashion marketing and media, advances in product development, or emerging digital technologies beginning August, 2023. This position includes research, undergraduate teaching, and service responsibilities in the Tempe and Phoenix campuses.

Staff Position

The School of Art (SOA) at the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts is looking for a Business Operations Manager (BOM) to develop, manage and control the business operations of the school. In this role, the BOM will be responsible for a wide range of duties which include, but are not limited to budgeting, forecasting, account reconciliations, purchasing card management, data analysis, reporting, procurement, inventory control, scholarship and award management, staff supervision, detailed tracking of expenditures and strategic planning, and acting as a resource for all SOA staff/faculty.   

The School of Art at the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and financially savvy Business Operations Specialist to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in learning a variety of new skills and enjoys a diverse academic work environment. In this role, the Business Operations Specialist (BOS) will be responsible for a wide range of duties which include HR and financial operations including but not limited to basic accounting, hiring functions, procurement, budgeting, account reconciliation, travel, reimbursements, speaker agreements, oversight of student awards, detailed tracking of expenditures and acting as a resource for faculty and staff.  

This position interacts with staff, faculty, and administrators at all levels of ASU and should exhibit strong abilities to manage multiple tasks.  The incumbent will work independently to handle problems and non-routine situations by determining the approach or action to take, and interpret guidelines, procedures, policies, and practices. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with an efficient work methodology, excellent communication skills, productive work qualities, an ability to coordinate multiple tasks autonomously, and someone who can exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
