Art Studies is a diverse arts degree offering a broad educational foundation in the arts. Students create unique works of art and gain skills that support a creative lifestyle and enhance a range of career paths, including creative thinking, ethical reasoning, problem solving, cultural awareness, and verbal and written communication skills. Students have a great deal of flexibility in planning coursework and can design a course of study that includes a survey of art history and contemporary arts practices and techniques from a variety of disciplines: animation, drawing, ceramics, illustration, printmaking, painting, photography and sculpture, as well as experimental processes across a vast array of mediums. Faculty encourage students to be curious and make unexpected connections and discoveries. This unique art studies program teaches you how you can shape your life to sustain your artistic practice after graduation.
