As a prospective graduate student interested in studying art, your options abound. Within the ASU Herberger Institute School of Art website you will find general information needed concerning the admission process as well as the opportunities you have upon acceptance into your desired program. In addition, faculty are available to answer questions and are also available to meet periodically while you pursue your studies in the School of Art.
The school offers two primary master's degree programs: the Master of Arts (art education and art history) and Master of Fine Arts (studio). Students wishing to pursue a Ph.D. in art history may do so through the Ph.D. in design, environment and the arts concentration in history, theory and criticism.
As a graduate student, you are assigned a temporary advisor until your graduate committee is established following the 15-hour review milestone. If you have any questions about this process, contact the School of Art at SOAgrads@asu.edu.
