Faculty Associate in Art
The Art program on the Tempe and Online campus at Arizona State University invites applications for Faculty Associates to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses online and/or on-campus in: Studio Art
These positions are one semester appointments, part time, non-benefits eligible with no tenure implications. A typical Faculty Associate course load is one to two classes per semester. Teaching duties include: preparing course materials, responding to and evaluating student work, and availability for one-on-one assistance (via weekly office hours for on-campus classes and electronically for online classes).
The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. Individuals hired as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits-eligible appointments at Arizona State University. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field + 4 years of industry experience or a Master’s degree in relevant field, by time of appointment
Demonstrated evidence of commitment to teaching excellence.
Master’s Degree in relevant field
Record of scholarly publication and/or evidence of professional development in relevant field
Minimum of two years of post-secondary teaching experience
The application deadline is 12/1/2023. Applications will continue to be accepted on a rolling basis for a reserve pool. Applications in the reserve pool may then be reviewed in the order in which they were received until the position is filled.
Faculty Associate vacancy announcements will be posted on an semester basis. Applicants who are not hired within the current academic year are welcome to re-apply - applications do not roll forward from the previous pool recruitment.
