In recognition of Squire Patton Boggs’ International footprint and scope of business, a unique fellowship will be open for consideration to international and U.S. artists. Only artists who have been admitted into the graduate level of study in studio practice within the Herberger Institute’s School of Art at ASU may apply.

Consideration for this fellowship will focus on students who exhibit exceptional promise and commitment to engage with the Phoenix community on what they learn as artists. The scholarship will be reviewed on an annual basis, with consideration for the next year’s scholarship renewal addressed in December.

Additional Criteria

The fellowship applications will be reviewed and awarded in the Spring of 2015 in anticipation of support covering the 2015-16 academic year. The selected award recipient will be expected to attend and participate in any/all public relation activities as outlined in the media plan, which will include, but is not limited to, a reception at Squire Patton Boggs’ Phoenix office scheduled for the Fall of 2015.

As part of Squire Patton Boggs dedication to raising the profile of the student artist, the fellowship award recipient will exhibit, donate or loan for a 6-12 month period (or another mutually agreed upon length of time) selected (mutually agreed upon) works of art at Squire Patton Boggs office as part of the development of Squire Patton Boggs’ Phoenix office art collection. During the exhibit term, if the student artist should need to remove pieces of his or her art on exhibit, he or she will give Squire Patton Boggs two weeks’ notice so that replacement pieces can be identified either from another collection or from other student artists in the School of Art. If the scholarship recipient is unable, for any reason, to provide adequate pieces of art for exhibit, then the School of Art will suggest other artists interested in exhibiting his or her artwork. Squire Patton Boggs will ensure that plaques identifying the artist and describing the pieces are placed alongside the artwork. Additionally, Squire Patton Boggs will maintain a price sheet provided by the student for any interested buyers that they may express an interest in purchasing the art directly from the artist.
