Students

The wood program, as part of the ASU Herberger College School of Art and connected to the sculpture program, emphasizes the creation of one-of-a-kind wooden objects with concern for the aesthetic and development of technical skills.  As a student, you work on a variety of projects in any scale from small to large — sometimes using logs straight from the tree.  While you are encouraged to be creatively independent, professional guidance is provided through scheduled critiques and informal discussions.  The school's guest lecturer program brings nationally recognized wood artists from around the country to the campus each year to speak and interact with you providing further educational development opportunities.
