Facilities

The wood program in the ASU Herberger College School of Art has one of the best-equipped woodworking studios in the West and is separate, but in close proximity, to the other sculpture facilities.  The studio encompasses equipment for bending, laminating, carving, turning and fabricating.  Machinery includes large planer, table saw, radial arm saw, two 20-inch band saws, spindle, pneumatic and wide-belt sanders, two jointers, three drill presses, six large capacity lathes, various power and hand tools and, most recently, a laser cutter.  The 3700 square foot facility contains a machine room, bench room and a large outdoor work area with a spray booth.  In addition, the facility has wireless Internet and digital projection.
