Foundry
Professor Mary Neubauer has run the foundry program for 12 years. She is a member of ASU's Partnership for Research in Spatial Modeling and works with 3D visualization of data streams. ASU has an active and nationally recognized foundry program, which is well known in the field. Students trained in the program are in demand and employable, both when they go on to graduate school and when they take professorships and teaching positions demanding knowledge in the field. Professor Neubauer is moving this traditional sculptural approach into new areas through the incorporation of rapid prototyping techniques, laser scanning and introduction of 3D modeling programs for sculptural output into cast metals.
