Facilities

Facilities for the metals program in the ASU Herberger College School of Art include well-equipped jewelry and metals studios. One of the most notable aspects is the extraordinarily extensive collection of forming tools. The school's assortment of hammers, stakes and anvil heads easily outnumbers the collections found in other programs.

The studio also includes a casting room equipped for centrifugal and vacuum casting, vulcanized mold making and wax injection. Other resources include an enameling area, bead blaster, hydraulic press, acid-etching area and finishing equipment. Each workstation is equipped with a flex shaft, torch and a properly ventilated soldering station. The stations are supplemented by a large communal annealing/soldering station for larger work. The program also includes a photo studio and equipment for students to professionally photograph their work.
