Refreshment Guidelines
Guidelines for Food Service at Opening Receptions
For the protection of the public, all food and beverages service at receptions in ASU Herberger Institute School of Art galleries must follow the established university guidelines based on the Arizona Department of Health Services Administrative Code and Arizona State Risk Management for providing food at special events. Food served at any campus event must come from one of the following:
- ASU Campus Catering, Memorial Union or a caterer from the pre-approved list the MU Administration Office or ASU purchasing provides. For more information, see Catering Services.
- A recognized retail vendor – local grocery store, Costco, restaurant, etc. – and should be pre-prepared or pre-packaged. A purchase receipt or copy should be attached. On the back of the Temporary Food Service Establishment Permit indicate what was purchased and where the purchase was made.

An Application for a Temporary Food Service Establishment Permit must be filed for each reception. See gallery director for further instructions. Regardless of the source of the food and beverages, this form must be on file with the gallery director PRIOR to your reception.
