Welcome to art education in the ASU Herberger Institute School of Art. The art education program has a strong multi-cultural and cross-cultural emphasis. The program has strong research in visual culture and life-long stages in art and new online courses. It is a broad-based professional program providing substantial foundations in studio art, art history and art education.

The program offers both teaching certification and non-certification options. Graduates with certification can become art teachers at K-12 schools, while non-certification career options include working in museums, art or community centers or with the elderly. As a student, you have a broad spectrum of career options that also include postgraduate research and work in state and federal agencies.
